Online Tally Counter with Multiple Saved Counters
Track people, repetitions, laps or events without losing your place. A digital tally counter is the on-screen equivalent of a handheld clicker, but multiple named counters make it useful for more complicated tasks.
STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE
How do I use the tally counter?
Create a counter for each thing you want to track, give it a recognizable name and tap plus when an event happens. Use minus to correct a mistake. Check the total before resetting; clear a counter only when you are ready to start again.
Use the tool as described above, then check the result against its limitations before using it elsewhere. Copy, export and print actions differ by tool. Do not assume a browser-saved value is a secure backup.
PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS
When is this tool useful?
At an event, give each entrance its own tally. In a workout, count sets or repetitions separately. During a survey, give each answer a counter so the totals stay visible together.
Choose inputs that describe the actual task. If you are comparing results over time, keep the method, units and settings consistent.

A closer look at Tally Counter
What makes a tally counter useful?
A tally counter records discrete events one at a time. It is appropriate for attendance, laps, repetitions, visitors, items checked, or any activity where the important question is how many times something happened. Unlike a stopwatch, a tally measures occurrences rather than duration. Unlike a spreadsheet, the main control can be operated repeatedly without moving between cells.
How should multiple counters be organized?
Give each counter a short, distinctive name before you begin, such as Room A, Room B, or Morning Session. Keeping categories separate avoids accidentally combining different groups. The plus and minus controls change one count at a time; you can also reset a single counter, undo a recent change, and export counts to a CSV file for later records.
What should you check before trusting the total?
Confirm that you have selected the intended counter, especially on a phone where several cards may appear one below another. A mistaken tap can be corrected, but an exported report is a snapshot, not a live synchronized database. Counts saved in local browser storage are not shared with coworkers or other devices.
Example
A teacher counts 24 students in the morning and 22 in the afternoon by naming two counters. The counters show separate totals, and an exported CSV provides a lightweight attendance record. For an official attendance register, record individual identities separately.
ACCURACY & PRIVACY
Important details and limitations
A tally records what you manually count; it does not detect events automatically. Browser-saved counts may be lost if you clear site data or switch devices.
Some ToolsRoom utilities keep progress in local browser storage. That is convenient for repeat visits on the same device, but it is not an online account or a backup. Clearing browser data, changing devices or using private browsing can remove saved information. Export important results when supported.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions about Tally Counter
Can I keep separate tallies?
Yes. Use multiple named counters to keep independent totals.
Does closing the tab erase my count?
Saved counts generally remain on the same browser unless its storage is cleared.
Can I export more than one counter at a time?
Yes. The CSV export includes counter names and the values currently shown. It is a snapshot, not an automatically updating file.
Can negative values appear?
The subtraction control can take a tally below zero, which can be useful for net adjustments. If you only count physical items, avoid subtracting beyond zero.
How do I keep a permanent record?
Export the file periodically and store it securely. Browser storage alone is not a permanent backup.
Is this free online tool available on mobile?
Yes. ToolsRoom is designed for modern mobile and desktop browsers, though some output options depend on your device and browser features.
